Abu-Muhammad Muslih al-Din bin Abdallah Shirazi, better known by his pen name Saadi , also known as Saadi of Shiraz , was a major Persian poet and literary between 1208-1291 or 1294 AC. He has two masterpieces known as Bustan and Gulistan , four books in love poets(Ghazals), longer mono-rhyme poems (qasidas) and also some short pieces.
His tomb is located in Shiraz and was established by Shams al-Din Juvayni, the vizir of Abaqa Khan, later in 17century it was destroyed. Karim Khan Zand added some new parts to this mausoleum. The current building was built between 1950 and 1952, and it was inspired a design from Chehel Sotun. There is also an old fish pond next to this tomb which is sacred due to fact that people believe the fishes belong to Saadi’s lifetime.
